( CARLISLE, OH ) -- It was announced Friday, August 4, that Brooke Skylar Richardson, 18, is being indicted on aggravated murder after the skeletal remains of a newborn baby were found buried in the yard of her Eagle Ridge Drive home last month.
While initially believing that the baby was stillborn, investigators now believe the child was alive at birth. Reports say the corpse had been buried for 10-12 weeks before investigators were tipped off about the baby being born.
Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell says evidence shows the baby was carried to full gestation. He also says that the skeletal remains were charred from being burned. However, investigators do not know at this time if the child was killed before being burned or died from being burned before the body was buried.
Richardson also faces charges for involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse.
