(Anderson Township) He's charged with aggravated murder and aggravated robbery. Bond for 39-year-old Thomas Schaffner is set at $1.5 million.
According to court documents, Schaffner said he went to the Anderson Township home of 57-year-old Steven Henderson to have sex with the victim and sell him crystal meth. He says they then got into a verbal argument that ended with him tying up Henderson and beating him to death.
Police say Schaffner tried to set the house on fire before taking off in the victim's car. They found that car, burned, on West 3rd Street.
