Construction Work to Impact Downtown Commute

(Cincinnati, Oh.)--Pavement work has nightly lane closures beginning 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, the I-71 and Ridge Road ramps will be closed until 5 a.m. Thursday, July 20.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and restrictions.

The Ohio Department of Transportation also issued an update of work in the Lytle Tunnel this week.  The department says in order to test and calibrate the lights in the Lytle Tunnel, the single lane of southbound I-71 into the tunnel which accesses northbound I-75 and westbound U.S. 50 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. on Friday, July 21, Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23.

The detours use southbound I-471 to KY Rt. 8 to northbound I-75 or westbound SR 562 to southbound I-75.

Motorists are advised to remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone to help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public,
