( Hamilton County ) - Following last month's second mistrial in the death of Sam Dubose, the Hamilton County Prosecutor has been deciding if he will try Ray Tensing for a third time. Word from the prosecutor's office on Monday afternoon, some kind of decision will be announced on Tuesday, July 18.
A statement from Joe Deters' office does not indicate what the decision will be, just that some kind of announcement is expected at 1pm.
Former UC Police Officer Ray Tensing has been tried twice for the death of Sam Dubose following a traffic stop near the University of Cincinnati campus in 2015. Both times he's been charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter and both times the jury has been deadlocked and a mistrial has been declared.
Deters has told our own Bill Cunningham that he would only try Tensing a third time if he believed his office could win the case.
