Nationals Hold Off Reds Rally

(Cincinnati, OH)--The Nationals took a 10-run lead in the seventh inning and held off a furious rally to top the Reds 10-7 in Cincinnati.  

Anthony Rendon's grand slam capped off a seven-run seventh.  Rendon also launched a two-run bomb in the fourth and finished 3-for-3 with six RBI.  

Max Scherzer struck out 10 over six frames as Washington improved to 54-and-36.  

Scooter Gennett drove in four-runs over the final two innings but the Cincy comeback fell short.  

Michael Lorenzen surrendered six runs while recording only one out in relief of Luis Castillo who took the loss.
