New Guilty Pleas in Evans Landscaping Fraud Case

( Cincinnati ) - The US Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio says more former employees of Evans Landscaping are pleading guilty to their roles in an alleged fraud case.

Former CFO Maurice Patterson and former manager Michael Moeller are admitting to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. They now each face up to 20 years in prison. Another former CFO, John Dietrich, is pleading guilty to failing to report a felony. He faces up to 3 years behind bars.

Evans Landscaping, owner Doug Evans, and his Vice President of Operations, Jim Bailey, are accused of setting up a fake company that bilked the City of Cincinnati out of $2 million. Federal charges were announced last month. Defense attorneys have said "Mr Evans and the company simply did not do the things they stand accused of doing."
