Are You Fit Enough to be a Police Office?

The Cincinnati Police Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply with the Department. Applications for the next Cincinnati Police Recruit Exam will be accepted through July 31. Candidates interested in a career in law enforcement with an opportunity for advancement should apply for the Police Recruit Application.


To encourage candidates to register for the exam, the Department will host several public forums with current Cincinnati Police Officers.  The dates and times are as follows:

  • July 13 – Forest Park Library at 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • July 18 – Pleasant Ridge Library at 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • July 20 – College Hill Library at 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • July 24 – Westwood Library at 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.


Teams of CPD Officers will be on hand looking for potential prospects at an Open House Recruiting Event/ “Are you Fit Enough to Be a Police Officer?” Challenge hosted at the Cincinnati Police Academy on Saturday, July 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event will allow those interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement to learn about how to best prepare for the application process and get a glimpse of various specialized assignments.
