Update: Body Found After Fisherman Falls In The Ohio River

The body pulled from the Ohio River on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 4, has officially been identified as that of Thla Maung, who went missing Sunday afternoon when he was pulled under the water after his hand was caught in a fishing net.

Update:

A body recovered from the Ohio River, believed to be that of a man who fell into the river Sunday evening while fishing. Witnesses said 32-year-old Thla Maung of Crescent Springs was fishing near Anderson Ferry around 9:30 pm when his hand became entangled in the fishing net and he was dragged under by the current. People who were along the riverbank said they never saw him resurface. Boone County Search and Rescue now reports they pulled a body from the river Tuesday afternoon. 

(Hebron) Crews will resume a search for a missing fisherman who fell into the Ohio River later this evening. They worked all night into the morning trying to find the man who waded into the water near Anderson Ferry and went under around 9:30 p.m.. 

People who were along the riverbank say they never saw him resurface. 

Cincinnati Fire and Boone county water rescue conducted the search with help from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
