Fatal Motorcycle Accident In Miami Township

(700 WLW)- The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a single vehicle fatal traffic crash.  The crash occurred on July 2, 2017, at approximately 8:19 P.M. on State Route 28, near Romar Drive, in Miami Township, Clermont County, Ohio.

A 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Terrance J. Willis, age 61, of Cincinnati, Ohio was traveling eastbound on State Route 28.  Preliminary investigation shows that Mr. Willis lost control of the vehicle, which then overturned and ejected Mr. Willis, as well as the passenger. 

The passenger on the motorcycle, Dona J. Day, age 53, of Middletown, Ohio was transported by UC Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with life threatening injuries.  Ms. Day was pronounced deceased at the hospital on July 3, 2017 as a result of her injuries.

Mr. Willis was transported from the scene by UC Air Care to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.

Neither Mr. Willis nor Ms. Day were wearing a helmet or any other protective equipment at the time of the crash.  Alcohol and/or drugs are believed to be a factor at this time.   

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol – Batavia Post.
