Heroin Use Suspected in Two Separate Car Accidents

( Butler County, OH ) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says heroin is the suspected cause of two separate crashes in Butler County. 

The first happened just after 8PM Friday on Plymouth Street in Middletown.

A 2004 Dodge Stratus was traveling eastbound when it drifted off the right side of the roadway striking 5 parked cars. 

All three people inside the Dodge were found unresponsive by Middletown EMS. All three were revived with Narcan. The driver, 45 year-old Shannon Williams, of Middletown, was charged with OVI, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Schedule IV Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Then, early Saturday morning, multiple people were treated for injuries after a crash on I-75.

Police say A 2009 Chevy Cobalt was traveling northbound on I-75 and the came to a stop near the Union Center exit. A 2004 Chrysler Pacifica then struck the stopped vehicle. 

55 year-old Richard Fair Jr., of Loveland was found unresponsive in the Cobalt by West Chester EMS and was revived with Narcan. The driver of the Pacifica, Cynthia Lother, of Fairfield and her three passengers were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Fair was charged with OVI and stopping in the roadway.

Both accidents remain under investigation.
