Dubose Family Speaks Out, Wants Third Trial

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  The family of Samuel Dubose held a press conference on Tuesday to express their disappointment with the lack of a conviction against former University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing.

Terina Allen, the sister of Sam Dubose, issued a heartfelt plea to not give up the fight to get a conviction. The two families and the public meanwhile are waiting to hear whether Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters will pursue a third trial in the Tensing case.

Several groups met yesterday to plan a "mass action" for Wednesday.

After more than 30 hours of deliberation, a jury remained deadlocked in the retrial of the former U.C. police officer accused of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the 2015 shooting death of DuBose.

The defense attorney who represented Tensing in the retrial is also speaking out about the results.  Stew Matthews said yesterday that the majority of jurors voted to acquit the former U.C. police officer on both murder and voluntary manslaughter during the trial.  The jury also deadlocked in Tensing's retrial over the weekend.
