(Cincinnati) Hundreds lined the streets with blue ribbons tied to trees and fence posts. Friends, family and members of the community gathered today at Wyoming High School for a final farewell to Otto Warmbier.
Mourners filled the auditorium, cafeteria, sidewalks and streets, paying tribute to the 22-year-old man who died this week after spending 17 months in North Korean captivity.
Among those attending the service, Ohio Senator Rob Portman, who described Otto as a smart, kind-hearted young man who was detained and mistreated by a regime with no regard for the law and basic human dignity.
Otto was returned to the U.S. last week in a coma. Doctors say he had suffered severe brain damage. He's been laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery.
