(700 WLW)- At 2:33 hours the Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a telephone call reporting smoke from the 1900 block of Knob Court, initial arriving fire companies reported a “working” fire on the second floor of a 2-story (frame) townhome. Firefighters conducted an aggressive interior attack while simultaneously searching the building. Primary and secondary searches revealed negative and the fire was quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire was due to a child playing with a lighter, there were no working smoke detectors in the home. The Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) encourages the installation of smoke alarms in the home and to not leave lighters or matches in the reach of children.
