High Speed Chase Results In Two Arrests

(700 WLW)- Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil reports a vehicle pursuit which began on I-75 at the 10.4 mile marker at 7:53 P.M... A Sheriff’s Unit attempted to stop a 2006 Nissan Altima, tan in color, for a speeding violation. The vehicle continued southbound on I-75 taking the Northwood Lateral to Reading Road and down several residential streets. The vehicle then re-entered onto northbound I-75 exiting onto eastbound Ronald Reagan Highway. The pursuit ended when the driver pulled over on southbound I-71 at Kenwood Road. Both occupants were taken into custody without incident.

During the pursuit, the passenger was observed throwing a large bag out of passenger’s side window of the vehicle which was recovered by a Blue Ash Officer. Three automatic handguns were found inside the bag.

The driver, Brenden Lee Shoup, age 18 was charged with Failure to Comply, Carrying Concealed Weapon, and Driving under Suspension, Improperly Handling Firearms and Defacing Identification Marks of Firearm.

The passenger, Michael Collins, age 18 was charged with Obstructing Official Business, Complicity (Carrying Concealed Weapon), Complicity (Improperly Handling Firearms) and Complicity (Defacing Identification Marks of Firearm).

Both were transported to Hamilton County Justice Center.
