CPS to Provide Free Meals to Kids During Summer Break

( Cincinnati, OH ) - Cincinnati Public Schools is sponsoring the federally funded Summer Food Service Program for Children.

The program runs now through August 4th, at schools, recreation centers and other locations around the district. 

Free breakfast and lunch meals will be available Monday through Friday to children 18 years of age and under, or to anyone between the ages of 19 and 21 who is determined by a state or local public-educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled. 

To receive a free meal, come to a serving site 15 minutes before the serving time; no preregistration needed. All meals must be eaten at the site. 

No meals will be distributed on Tuesday, July 4. 

Meals will be provided at the sites and times posted on the CPS website: cps-K12.org 

The Summer Food Program is federally funded through the Department of Education. CPS sponsors the program in cooperation with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and other community groups.
