Jury Selection Will Resume Monday in Ray Tensing Retrial

(Cincinnati) - Update: Jury selection will resume Monday morning. Judge Leslie Ghiz released the remaining potential jurors Friday afternoon, ordering them back to court at 9am Monday.

There were just over 100 left in the jury pool on Friday.

There was also another lawsuit filed Friday in the battle over media access. Some local outlets are still seeking the redacted juror questionnaires, as well as the ability to have electronic devices in the court room.

Judge Leslie Ghiz decided Friday afternoon that redacted juror questionnaires will be released, once the trial is over.

The judge says she is determined to protect juror privacy. Jury selection is back underway in the retrial of former University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing.

The selection process was put on hold earlier this week to deal with issues of media access, and this morning, Judge Leslie Ghiz issued a warning to reporters. She says if one single photo is taken of a juror, she will kick all reporters and cameras out of the courtroom.

Tensing is charged with murder for the shooting of Sam DuBose during a traffic stop back in 2015. The jury in his first trial could not reach a unanimous verdict.
