Major Arrest and Seizure of Heroin and Fentanyl

( Hamilton County, OH ) - Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil announced a significant arrest and seizure of Heroin and Fentanyl on Saturday. 

Members of the Regional Enforcement Narcotics Unit (RENU) arrested Jose Rodriquez, of Bronx, New York, on Thursday May 11th. He's been charged with Trafficking Heroin/Fentanyl. 

RENU Agents intercepted two kilograms of heroin & fentanyl. The drugs were concealed in an electronic fabricated compartment in the vehicle being operated by Rodriquez. 

The estimated street value of the drugs was over $300,000. 

This significant seizure disrupted a large drug organization distributing heroin from New York to Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Rodriquez is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center, where his bond was set at $2 million. 

It’s also anticipated Rodriquez will be charged with additional Federal Drug Trafficking charges in the coming days.
