Delays Expected on I-71 and I-74 Due To Construction

(Cincinnati, Oh.)--Several local highways will see construction and lane closures this week.


In Hamilton County: 

The ramp from southbound North Bend Road to eastbound Interstate 74 will be closed from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10.

There will also be lane closures on eastbound I-74 at the bridge during this time.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place near the work zone and ramp and lane closures.

A local northbound alternate route has been posted from North Bend Road to Boomer Road to Race Road to West Fork Road to North Bend Road.


Paving work on Interstate 71 in Hamilton County continues through Friday, May 12.

There will be various lane closures on north and southbound I-71, between Ridge Road and Victory Parkway, nightly from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following day. Traffic will be maintained.

There will also be short-term full closures of the ramps from State Route 562, Dana Avenue, Edwards/Smith roads and Williams Avenue to southbound I-71 nightly between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. through Wednesday, May 10. All work is dependent upon weather.


Utility work requires various lane closures on Fields-Ertel Road.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, there will be various lane closures on Fields-Ertel Road from Royal Point Drive to Mason-Montgomery Road. 

One lane of traffic will be maintained, and all lanes will be open by 6 a.m. Thursday, May 11.


In Warren County: 

To accommodate bridge work on the original southbound Interstate 71/Jeremiah Morrow bridge, full and short-term full closures will be necessary on I-71 this Sunday.

Southbound I-71 will be closed to traffic between the State Route 73 and SR 48 exits from 6 a.m. until 11 a.m. Sunday, May 14. 

The detour uses SR 73, U.S. 42 and SR 48.On northbound I-71, there will be intermittent short-term full closures between SR 73 and SR 48, using the same detour in reverse, from 6 a.m. until 11 a.m.

Also during this time, traffic on the Little Miami Scenic River and Trail will not be permitted between Wilmington Road and SR 350.
