(Columbia Township, Hamilton County, OH)--A Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday after being choked and punched.
The deputy responded around 1:12 p.m. to the Days Inn at 5410 Ridge Rd. for a report of a domestic disturbance in the lobby.
Investigators said Jeffery L. Cooper Jr., 29, of Norwood, attacked the deputy while he was trying to break up the dispute. They said Cooper punched and choked the deputy into unconsciousness.
Other deputies intervened and used a Taser on Cooper before arresting him.
The deputy was transported to the hospital.
Cooper is held in the Justice Center on charges of Felonious Assault and Attempted Murder of a Law Enforcement Officer.
