(Cincinnati) Its goal is to give people a better understanding of the legal process. The Black Lawyers Association of Cincinnati is hosting a series of community forums ahead of the retrial of Ray Tensing.
The former University of Cincinnati police officer is charged with murder and voluntary manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Sam DuBose during a traffic stop back in July of 2015.
It's hoped the forums will help answer any questions the public may have about the case. They'll cover a variety of topics, including the jury selection process and the legal standards for murder, manslaughter and self defense.
The first forum is set for tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church in Roselawn. There's another forum May 10th at Allen Temple AME Church Bond Hill and a third forum May 16th at First Unitarian Church in Avondale.
Trial set to begin May 25th.
