May 2 Special Election: Races and Issues

Vote Sign

( Southwest Ohio ) - May 2 is a special election day in Ohio, and most counties have at least one issue on the ballot.

In Hamilton County, there are several decisions for voters to make. Oak Hills, Northwest, and Wyoming all have school levies on the ballot, some renewals, others asking for new money. The biggest race is Cincinnati's mayoral primary between incumbent Mayor John Cranley, City Councilwoman Yvette Simpson, and UC Trustee Rob Richardson.

Butler County doesn't have any major candidate races, but there are some levies including that same Northwest Local Schools levy and some voters in Hamilton County are weighing in on along with the renewal of a levy for senior citizens in Middletown.

The most widespread issue in Warren County is the renewal of a levy for Lebanon City Schools.

There are both municipal and school district issues in Clermont County, including a fire and EMS renewal levy for Milford and a charter amendment for Amelia.

Polls in Ohio are open from 6am to 7:30pm.
