Heavy Rain Floods Roads Knocks out Power in Cincinnati

(Cincinnati, Oh.)--Heavy rainstorms in the Tri-State have knocked out power to over 2,000 homes and business Saturday.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Kenton, Campbell, Boone, Hamilton and Butler counties until 12:45 Saturday afternoon as severe storms are moving across the tri-state. The National Weather Service reports storms were packing 60 mph winds and some areas could see some hail.

AAA Travel Agency is also advising you to use caution and drive slow.Flooded roadways are also a concern for motorists. Heavy rains are producing enough water to flood area roadways. Flooding has shut down U.S. 50 at Burkhart. The depth of standing water during a storm can be deceiving. Motorists should never drive through standing water at any depth.

2. Two feet of rushing water can sweep away most vehicles-including SUVs and pick-ups.
