( Cincinnati ) - The Cincinnati Board of Education has announced the two finalists for Superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools.
CPS says the current Deputy Superintendent of CPS, Catherine Laura Mitchell, and the Superintendent of Harrison Schools in Colorado Springs, Andre Spencer, are the last of dozens of candidates considered.
Mary Ronan announced in November, 2016, that she would be retiring in July. From there, a nationwide search was conducted that a statement from the district says attracted 58 people.
There's a reception where members of the public can meet the finalists at Mayerson Academy on Highland Avenue in Corryville on May 8 from 4pm to 6pm.
The district plans on naming who gets the job in May and have them assume the position no later than August 1.
