Ban On Pit Bulls Unacceptable Says Animal Protective League CEO

Earlier this month a pit bull attacked a 3-year-old girl in Elmwood Place causing her serious injuries, in Cleveland a man also seriously injured when he was mauled by a pit bull,  and just this week a Dayton, Ohio man was mauled to death by a pit bull.

CEO of the Cleveland Animal Protective League Sharon Harvey said people can't blame all pit bulls because of these incidents.

"It is a tragic situation and it has to be taken seriously...if there are animals out there that are dangerous that has to be dealt with and yet it is not appropriate to condemn an entire breed or entire type of animal because of the actions of some," said Harvey.

The owners of the pit bull that attacked the toddler in Elmwood Place, 41-year-old Eddie Butts (photo below) and 21-year old Liasha Williams are facing charges. According to court documents, both went before a grand jury on Monday in Hamilton County Court.
