Mason High Graduate Killed at Track Meet

(Wheaton, IL) -- The track meet death of a Mason High School graduate is being called a freak accident. Ethan Roser was volunteering at the meet this past weekend when he was struck with a hammer during the hammer throw event at Wheaton College in Illinois. 

The 19-year-old Roser played soccer for the Mason Comets in the statement, the college released a statement after the incident saying paramedics were on the scene immediately. 

He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, where he was pronounced dead. Prayer vigils were held on the field Saturday night where the incident happened.
