Fairfield Mother Deported

(Cincinnati) Her supporters say they cannot believe our government could be so cruel. Maribel Trujillo Diaz has been put on a plane and sent to Mexico. The Fairfield mother of four American children has been deported after 15 years of living and working in the United States.

Diaz was put on a plane in Louisiana this morning to be returned to Mexico. She entered the country illegally in 1997 but had no other criminal record. Her attorney says the deportation proves the Trump administration is not focused on deporting criminals but rather separating peaceful mothers from their American children. Kathleen Kersh says it horrific that American children will be the ones to pay the price for what she calls the President's heartless policies. "We are disappointed and outraged that ICE has chosen not to exercise prosecutorial discretion despite the thousands of calls and nationwide advocacy from community members, elected officials, and faith leaders,” Kathleen Kersh, Trujillo’s ABLE attorney, said in the statement.
