Facebook Killer Steve Stephens Found In Erie, PA

(Erie, Pennsylvania) - Steve Stephens, the Cleveland man accused of the murder of 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr., who then posted video of the murder on Facebook, is himself dead.

Stephens died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at 11:10 Tuesday morning, inside his white Ford Fusion.  He was found dead on Buffalo Road and Downing Avenue in Erie.

The Erie Times-News says Pennsylvania State Police were following the Fusion as it was headed west into Erie, when police found Stephens dead.

Stephens has been on the run since Sunday afternoon, when he posted on his Facebook page a video showing him going up to Godwin along East 93rd Street, exchanging words with him, and then shooting Godwin, execution-style.  The search for him went nationwide, and attracted tips from as far away as Texas.
