( Cincinnati ) - Springtime always brings an increase in road construction projects, and in just the next week there will be new work for drivers to navigate around.
Monday through Wednesday nights of this week (April 17, 18, and 19) bridge work is shutting down both the southbound I-71 ramp to I-471 and the Reading/Liberty ramp to 471. Those ramp closures will be in effect from 10pm until 6am the following day.
A part of a years-long project is wrapping up soon. ODOT says that this Sunday, April 23, the southbound portion of the old Jeremiah Morrow Bridge will be demolished. To give the workers room to accomplish that, I-71 will be closed between State Route 73 and State Route 48 from 5am to 11am. Also, traffic on the Little Miami Scenic River and Trail will not be permitted between Wilmington Road and State Route 350.
The next day, April 24, is when ODOT crews plan to open the newly built ramp from Martin Luther King to northbound I-71.
