(Cincinnati, Oh.)--The appeal of a local mother to stay in Cincinnati has been denied by a judge.
Maribel Trujillo Diaz is in ICE custody prior to her likely deportation back to Mexico.
The motion for a stay of her removal was denied on Tuesday. The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit granted a motion to dismiss Trujillo's appeal.
Diaz was being held at the Morrow County Ohio Detention Center. According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement she came to the United States illegally from Mexico in 2002.
Hundreds rallied and signed petitions over the past few days to let the Fairfield mother of four stay in the United States.
She has reportedly been transported out of Ohio and is now on her way to an ICE detention facility in Oakdale, Louisiana.
