( Cincinnati ) - 18-Year-Old Madie Hart (pictured above) was struck by a car downtown on March 26 and died from her injuries on March 30. On Monday, the prosecutor announced criminal charges against the woman accused of driving that car.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters calls 20-year-old Briana Benson's criminal record from when she was still a juvenile "ridiculous." Deters says that Benson and Hart had been fighting outside of a bar on 7th street, and Benson struck Hart with her car on purpose.
Benson is charged with multiple counts including murder, felonious assault, aggravated vehicular homicide. She appeared before a judge Thursday morning, entering a plea of not guilty. Her bond has been set at $1 million.
