( Washington DC ) - In his continued effort to get the Delta Queen back on the Ohio River, US Senator Robb Portman and his Democratic counterpart, Senator Sherrod Brown, announced on Monday that the Senate passed legislation to clear the way for the historic riverboat to once again carry passengers on overnight trips. Exemptions to a transportation safety law passed in the 1960's ran out in 2008. The exemption legislation is now in committee in the House.
