( Hamilton County ) - Prosecutor Joe Deters told our own Bill Cunningham on Wednesday that the felony charge against Bengals' Cornerback Adam Jones has been dropped.

Jones was arrested for allegedly causing a disturbance at a downtown hotel back in January. After he was arrested and being processed at the Hamilton County Justice Center, Jones allegedly spit on a jail nurse. In Wednesday's interview, the prosecutor says that "spit" was some chewing tobacco that Jones had in his cheek, and as he spit it out, some of it hit the nurse's hand. Deters referred to the charge of harassment with a bodily substance as "ticky tack."

Deters says Jones "was just being, for lack of a better term, an idiot" and not a violent offender. Jones still faces possible misdemeanor charges in the City of Cincinnati.
