( COVINGTON, KY ) -- A large donation has been made by a property developer for the repair of a Mainstrasse Village bell tower.
The Carroll Chimes Bell Tower, also known as the Pied Piper Tower, will be renovated to become operational for the first time in 17 years after the owner of Piper's in Covington, Charles Killian, put up more than $30,000 to restore the Goebel Park bell tower.
Since the bell tower was built in 1978, upgrades will have to be made. That includes upgrading the bells, building clock, and the famous glockenspiel.
