Trades Workers Desperately Needed: Career Fair Next Week

John Morris with the Ohio Valley Associated Builders and Contractors tells 700WLW there's a shortage of trades workers and companies are eager to hire.

"All of these firms have such a shortage of skilled tradespeople because people aren't willing to put in the time and committment, which isn't  long...it's typically less than it takes to get a college degree and you can get it for no debt and at the end of it you are making more than the average person with a college degree," said Morris

Morris said most companies have internal training programs. He said construction and service companies are looking for workers with all levels of experience and encourages anyone interested in a position to come out to a Career Fair sponsored by the contractors association Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the Duke Energy Convention Center. The event begins at 2 p.m.
