CVG Receives StormReady Designation From National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has designated The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport as StormReady. That means the airport is ready to jump into action and save lives of passengers and employees during severe weather. CVG has established a 24-hour period warning point and emergency operations center, has more than one method of receiving severe weather information and alerting the public, has a system that monitors local weather conditions, and has a formal hazardous weather plan, which includes training severe weather spotters. The airport also has a number of weather and emergency plans, all of which are approved by the Federal Aviation Association (FAA).
