( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) presented a national campaign to help prevent and deter the illegal "straw man" purchasing of firearms.
The campaign is called Don't Lie for the Other Guy. This campaign is a joint effort designed to train firearms retailers how to better identify and deter potential straw purchases (someone purchasing a firearm for someone who either cannot legally own a firearm or for someone who wishes not to have their backgrounds checked) and to educate the public on the consequences of purchasing a firearm for someone who legally cannot.
