Cincinnati to Possibly Become Sanctuary City

( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- As President Donald Trump says he will cut federal funding to any place that qualifies themselves as a "sanctuary city", some in Cincinnati are looking to push back.

City councilman Wendell Young says that he is looking into proposing to the council that Cincinnati become a sanctuary city. He says that at this time, he does not know who all or if any other council members are also looking into this.

VIce Mayor David Mann says that he would have to look at any proposal before throwing his support behind it, however, he says he fully supports steps the city is taking to protect immigrants.

Vice Mayor Mann does say that if an immigrant breaks the law while in Cincinnati, he believes they should be dealt with appropriately, but neither he nor councilman Young believe in deportation task forces or splitting families up.
