Parole Board to Consider Clemency

(Cincinnati) He was convicted of killing his wife and a man who had hired her as a caretaker. Now attorneys for death row inmate Raymond Tibbetts are asking the Ohio Parole Board to grant him clemency.

The 59-year-old Tibbetts was sentenced to death in 1998 for the stabbing of 67-year-old Fred Hicks in Over-the-Rhine.

He was also sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of his wife, 42-year-old Judith Crawford. Police say he beat her with a bat and stabbed her during an argument over his crack cocaine habit.

Tibbetts is set to die in April.
