(Cincinnati, Oh.)--An advisory to students and staff at The University of Cincinnati was issued this week, that a man has been reportedly implying he is a wounded soldier hoping to receive donations. The ROTC Unit at the University says the man in question is not part of their Reserve Officers Training Corps program and they have received reports of him across the campus for several years.
No arrest has ever been made and no charges have been filed. Leaders in the program say the issue is compounded by the fact that the man has never been spotted in a uniform and has never displayed military ID. He has also never asked specifically for money but relays a sad story in the hopes that a donation will be made. The tales include that the man suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He also claims to be a purple heart recipient. Students and staff are advised to report the man if they are approached.
