( Cincinnati ) - Following a federal indictment earlier this year, former Cincinnati City Councilwoman Tamaya Dennard pleaded guilty on Monday to one count of honest services wire fraud.
In exchange for that guilty plea, charges of bribery and extortion were dropped. Dennard, 40, is accused of hitting up developers for cash to get her council vote on a land swap deal at The Banks.
Before her hearing, Dennard made a post on Facebook:
Dennard resigned from office in March.
She is free on bond and will be sentenced later this year. She faces up to 20 years behind bars, though the maximum sentence seems unlikely.
