FLOODING: Red Cross Shelters, Distribution Centers

( Tri-State ) - The Ohio River is expected to officially drop out of flood stage by Friday morning. As the flood waters recede, the American Red Cross is helping flood victims with both shelters and distribution centers.

The Red Cross says the shelters in Alexandria, Kentucky, and New Richmond, Ohio, will close at 11am on Friday, March 2.

Distribution centers with emergency supplies for flood victims are now available in a variety of locations:

  • Aurora, IN - Lyons Club, 228 Second St. March 1-4, 10am to 6pm
  • Cincinnati, OH - Ebersol Community Center, 5701 Kellogg Ave. March 2-3, 10am to 6pm
  • Cincinnati, OH - LeBlond Community Center, 2335 Riverside Dr. March 2-4, 10am to 6pm
  • Ludlow, KY - Knights of Columbus/Ludlow Vets, 828 Elm St. March 2, 12pm to 4pm
  • New Boston, OH - New Boston Community Center, 3980 Rhodes Ave. March 3, 11am to 2pm
  • Proctorville, OH - Rome Twp Fire, 9666 County Road 107. March 3, 11am to 2pm
  • Ripley, OH - Ripley City Building, 125 Waterworks Rd. March 3, 10am to 1pm
  • Stout, OH - Nile Twp Fire, 11915-12099 Ohio River Scenic Byway. March 3, 11am to 2pm

The Red Cross flood cleanup kits that are being distributed at the above locations include bleach, dust masks, gloves, cleaning tools, garbage bags, and more.
