Steer homers, joins 20/20 club, Reds rally to beat Braves

Spencer Steer's first homer since August 21 put the Reds ahead for good. It also put him into the Reds 20 homer/20 stolen base club with Elly.

Reds trailed 3-0 in the1st and then 5-1 into bottom of the 4th. It's their 27th comeback win of the season. They had 48 in 2023, T-most in MLB.

The Reds move to a MLB best 32-18 in series opening games. They are 4-0 vs the Braves, winning the season series.

Brandon Williamson, in just his fourth appearance after dealing with season long shoulder issues, exited the game in the 2nd inning after clutching at his elbow. The Braves had belted two homers in scoring three 1st inning runs off Williamson. Reds say 'left elbow strain'.

Steer: Had gone 24 games without a HR. He joins Elly as Reds first 20/20 teammates since Erice Davis/Barry Larkin in 1996

Marte: 2 H, 2B. He saw 22 pitches first 3 AB. Nice bare hand play at 3rd. Best game in a while.

Williamson: 1.1 IN, 3 R, 2 HR. 
3 runs, 2 HR and 33 pitches in the 1st. Had allowed 3 earned runs over 13 innings since coming off the IL. Michael Harris homered to open the game. 

Reds entered the night with MLB best starting rotation ERA in September (1.98), per Bally Sports.
