Game 2: Brewers 14 Reds 0

That’s a doubleheader sweep. It was embarrassing.

The Brewers scored 10 runs in the 9th, including six off Luke Maile, who took over after Yozver Zulueta surrender four runs and got one out in the inning. Nine consecutive Brewers reached base. They hit for the cycle in the inning, ….3 singles, 3 doubles, a triple and 2 HR.

Rhett Lowder threw a lot of pitches over four innings in his MLB debut, but he worked around four walks to limit the damage to one run.

The Reds were shutout for the 12th time this season.

The Brewers have won 18 of the last 24 vs the Reds and 36 of 49.

The Reds drop to 64-72 and 15.5 games back of Milwaukee.

Lowder: 4 IN, 2 H, 1 R, 4 BB, 6 K, 77 pitches/47 strikes/14 foul balls

Struggled with command. Season high BB. Had walked 5 in his previous 5 starts. Worked around BB to first two batters of game. 3 SB. Got 10 swings and misses. Fouled off ton pitches. Season high fouls balls had been 11.

Bullpen: Moll, Spiers 3 R, 2 HR, Zulueta 4 R, HR, 44 pitch 9th.

Spiers has allowed 15 HR last 38.1 IN. Holy.

Luke Maile finished the 9th: 0.2, 6 R

Reds will need a SP Saturday.

Santiago Espinal left the game. After fouling a pitch off his foot and later singling.

Noelvi Marte: Failed to make two plays at 3rd…one tough, one very makeable

I get he’s 22. I get he didn’t have spring training.

But he has played in 60 games..12 at AAA, 48 with Reds. He has been embarrassing in the field and a disaster at the plate. So disappointing.

And a major question for 2025.
