Things that popped into my head this week.....
If Joe Burrow likes, trusts and believes in Dan Pitcher, then you know what? I like, trust and believe in Dan Pitcher.
Song I cranked up on my car radio this week: 'Take The Money And Run"....Steve Miller Band. That is a groooooooove. Can't listen without trying that clapping sequence.
I believe I have watched all 201 episodes of The Office, after never watching during its original run. The field trip to Gettysburg, Season 8, episode 8, was the final piece.
I enjoy oatmeal. But I can never get the consistency right.
You can't put a price on the value of having your players get out and meet kids. Connecting with young fans is growing young fans. Those are memories/stories the kids will pass along for years to come. The caravan is so well done by the Reds.
As much as in-game decisions are being decided by analytics, like going for two or a fake punt, I don't why TV broadcasts don't show the ‘math” on screen for viewers to better understand decisions.
Debating who calls Bengals plays has replaced the Reds lineup/batting order for most mind numbing topic around here.
I spent 24 hours this week debating if my right contact was inside out. I finally realized I had my left contact in my right eye and my right contact in my left eye.
Is the Jodi Foster 'True Detective' worth checking out?
If we are being honest, the number of important Bengals roster decisions this offseason is rather disconcerting.
I think the Reds least talked about important player is Tyler Stephenson. He'll be 27 in August. What he will be for the Reds this season?
A hill I'm willing to die on: If the offense fumbles the ball out of the end zone, the defense does not deserve possession because they didn't not recover the ball. I'm simple. I will bet ya the rule finally changes this offseason.
As for Ravens vs Chiefs. I don't root for/prefer that division rivals advance in the postseason. Go Chiefs. And Taylor:)
I've enjoyed interviewing and talking with Brian Callahan more than any other Bengals coach I've met over the years. He's as genuine a dude as you'd ever want to meet. I root for him.....except for next year vs Bengals.
TV recommendation: American Nightmare, a three part Netflix series. What a ^&*@ up story.
You may not like the NBA, but I'd highly recommend experiencing a Pacers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. What a place.
Peyton and friends drove from Louisville to Lexington for a midnight hockey game between UL-UK. Returned home around 3:30AM. I'm sure glad she told me after the fact.
Sadly, I don't think I could give up my phone for a month for that $10,000 prize contest. I'm too connected to my phone for work.
After years of singing along to Billy Joel's 'It's Still Rock 'N Roll To Me', I finally looked up the meaning of Beau Brummel.....as in....'You could really be a Beau Brummel baby if you just give it half a chance.' Definition: An important figure in Regency England, and for many years the arbiter of British men's fashion. IE...an extremely or excessively well-dressed man.
Still hard to believe that in 2024, the Baseball Hall of Fame is voted on by only newspaper writers.
I still marvel at the fact Mick Cronin took UC basketball to nine consecutive NCAA tournaments? nine. Think about that.
I was flipping channel and caught Rambo the other night. The scene in the tunnel with the rats still gets me. Brian Dennehy is such the quintessential small town hard ass sheriff.
Don't worry about things you don't care about.
