Greene deals, Votto and India homer, Reds win

The Reds started getting the band back together Sunday and it produced sweet music. 

Hunter Greene came off the Covid-IL to give the Reds six strong innings, while Jonathan India and Joey Votto came of the IL and homered as the Reds beat the Cardinals 7-1 to avoid a series sweep Sunday afternoon. 

Hunter Greene: 6 IN, 1 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, 9 K, 109 pitches. Per ELias Sports, it was the seventh start in which Greene allowed 2 hits or fewer while throwing at least 6.0 innings, the most for any Reds pitcher in his first 42 career starts.

Welcome back: India homered In his first AB since July 28 to open the 3rd inning. He also stole his 13th base. 

Double digit power: Will Benson smacked his 10th HR, becoming the 10th Red to reach double figures this season. Benson also doubled. 

Triple Dip: TJ Friedl and Nick Martini each tripled in the 6th.

Tank shots: The three homers all traveled over 400 feet…..India 409, Benson 414 and Votto 437.
