Well, so much for that showdown weekend. The Brewers disposed of the Reds for a third consecutive day, 501 at GABP. The Reds are now down to a Monday crack at salvaging a game in the four-game series.

The Reds have followed a five game winning steak with a four game losing streak. They stand 26-33 on the season.

Houser-ed: Brewers SP Adrian House stifled the Reds offense...7 IN, 1 R. He had them beating the ball into the ground with 11 groundouts.

Lucky 7: Jake Fraley finally go the Reds on the board with a solo blast in the 7th inning (7). That's back-to-back days with a longball.

Ben Lively: He gave the Reds what they desperately needed, innings. 7 IN, 6 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 5 K, 2 HR, 104 pitches/57 strikes. It's the first time he's pitched 7 innings in a start since September of 2017.

Early deficit: Andruw Monasterio ripped a three-run 1st inning homer off Lively for a 3-0 lead.

Benson burst: He singled, again. He's 6 for his last 17 (.353) with 3 K.....after starting 1 for 25 (.040) with 14 K.

Matt McLain: 2 more hits, 1B, 2B and made an absolutely spectacular backhanded stop of a rocket and throw out at 1B.

Comfort zone: Spencer Steer continues to impress at 1B...footwork, range and scoops.

Penciled in: TJ Hopkins made his first MLB start (0-4)

Bullpen: Cruz 1.0 IN, 0 R, Gibaut 1.0 IN, 0 R.

Look ahead: Rookie LHP Andrew Abbott will make his MLB debut on Monday vs the Brewers.

Pushed: Hunter Greene, dealing with hip soreness, has been pushed back to next Sunday. They Reds will go with a six man rotation for the moment.
