(Loveland, OH) - The city of Loveland plans to try out parking meters beginning tomorrow, May 19.
The city says the pilot program will be used in less than 10% of Loveland's parking spots and will be focused in the downtown area.
13 single-space spots along West Loveland Avenue, Broadway Street, Harrison Avenue, Railroad Avenue and Karl Brown Way, as well as 42 spots within the City Hall parking lot, will be converted to paid spots at a rate of $1.00 per hour. Drivers can pay at kiosks located in the City Hall lot or use the ParkMobile smartphone app.
City employees will service the system and Loveland Police will enforce it. Then city council will decide whether to use parking meters on a permanent basis.
Loveland delayed the launch of the pilot program that was scheduled to begin in March because of what it says were installation setbacks.
