Before the end of the day today, traffic will be flowing again across the busiest bridge in the Tristate. For six weeks, the Brent Spence Bridge connecting Cincinnati and Covington on I-75 has been shutdown to repair steel and concrete damaged in a fiery crash November 11th. Engineers were on the bridge yesterday going through the final inspection of the repair work and they have given the green light to reopen it for travel. The photos below show Covington State Rep Buddy Wheatley getting a look at the repairs, he tweets "job very well done."
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is expecting the bridge to open some time between 3pm and 5pm.
