The embattled member of council says she is resigning from office, effective today, March 2, 2020. She says she doesn't want to be a distraction, and she needs all her time and energy now to fight the charges against her.
Dennard was indicted on federal charges last month, accusing her of bribery, wire fraud, and more for allegedly taking cash in exchange for her vote.
She closes her statement by expressing "heartfelt gratitude to the people of Cincinnati for allowing me the greatest honor of serving my hometown in this capacity."
