At one point it was considered the most expensive piece of property in Cincinnati and one of the most coveted development sites in the country.
The land dubbed Fountain Square West is now expected to be sold for 1 dollar. The Cincinnati Planning Commission is on board with selling the property at 5th and Vine to the Cincinnati Center City development Corporation to spark redevelopment of the site. 3CDC already owns the old Macy's department store building on the site and is in the process of gutting the inside hoping to attract a large company to move their offices to the land across from Fountain Square.
The plans also call for new retail space on the first floor of the property that was once home to Tiffany's and Brooks Brothers. No word yet on what potential tenants 3CDC might be working with.
